Baseball's Never Been Hotter....

Well, I called the Jacksonville Suns' front office today, to see when their promotional schedule would be released. They said that it is not ready yet, but to keep checking the web site.

So I asked them if they could tell me what Bobbleheads they were doing this year, and they were happy to oblige! They are doing only three this year, but they are some good ones:

• Ivan De Jesus, Jr.
• Clayton Kershaw
• Southpaw

Great, right?!? Those are three games that we will NOT be missing this year!

Minor League Musical Chairs

Most of us know that the Dodgers are leaving Jacksonville. That's right--the Suns will now be affiliated with the Florida Marlins (wa-hoo!), while the Dodgers will be going to Tennessee with the Chattanooga Look-outs. What we didn't know is that there would be so many other changes. Instead of continueing to try to remember all the changes, I made a table of all the ones that I have found so far:

McDonald, Ellis get some P.T. in the MLB

Former Jacksonville Suns standouts A.J. Ellis (catcher) and James McDonald (right-handed pitcher) both made their MLB debuts with the Los Angelos Dodgers this week.

McDonald (who pitched GREAT for the Suns this year) pitched a perfect ninth inning in a blowout loss to the Pirates (!) last night. He recorded 2 strikouts

Ellis played on Monday (9/15) and Wednesday (9/17), but as a late-inning defensive replacement. He has yet to get an at-bat in the majors, which should just be temporary, since he hit 0.321/0.433/0.456 (batting average/on-base percentage/slugging percentage) for AAA-Las Vegas this year.
